Ok so I got some 3.73 gears for x mas but now Ihear when I put them in I should get a posi, then some people say I should just get rebuilt and some say I should just put gears in and call it a day so... what should I do , my car is a dd and I don't want to make it to hard to drive when im working but I also go to the drag strip when I get the chance but I got that whole one wheel wonder thing going on so people voice what I should do

you ought to go ahead and rebuild the posi. you could get a new one if you like but if its mostly a dd just rebuild the factory posi. youll enjoy the two wheel burn outs

you need to rebuild the trac-lok....i don't understand why you would buy a new one? you may as well have the people to rebuild it while they are installing your gears, might want to look into a girdle why you have it apart as well

Definitely just rebulid the trac loc. A posi will wear out your tires and will be a huge pain in the ass if you ever get into a small parking lot. A rebuilt trac-loc will get both tires smoking but still be able to turn the inside wheel slower alowing you to turn much better.

any good auto repair shop can install them , some mechanics at dealerships do that stuff on the side. there are a couple guys around my area that will do it for like $50 if you pull the housing and they can work on it on the bench. That's what I did when I was young and poor

save the cash and just rebuild the traction lock, you can actually increase the capacity of the traction lock by installing 4 clutch plates per side instead of the factor setup of 3 per side

I think ill just pay the moeny to get it done cause I don't want the risk of something happen on the freeway and have my wheels lok up on me and if I pay someone to do then ican get mad at them and not myself
