What tire size to go with?

Im in the process of doing a 5 lug conversion with 17x8 inch wheels. What tire size should i use?? Also is it ok to have a wider tire on the back then the front? Will it affect the handleing or steering? Am i better off with the same width all around?

my 91 has 17" cobras 9" in front and back and its miserable. needs something smaller in the front. you dont want to run skinnies obviously for your dd. but too much wheel and tire in the front pulls you all over the place. you feel every little bump and ridge in every road

I was one of the first to get 17 by 9 03 cobras on my 91 with 245s up front and 275s out back and I really cant complain about em.My car is lowered 1.5 inches and they rub a little at almost full lock but thats an easy fix all you gotta do is install the steering rack limiters and install em

+1.

If you do stagger the sizes, you're just going to make the already understeer-prone Mustang chassis even MORE prone to understeer.
