how safe is this???
just wondering how safe is it to take a stock 5.0 to 6200rpms before shifting, reason i ask normally i shift around 5800 but this morning i got on it, and ran it to 6200 (really by accident) but noticed that when i shifted that high that it didn't feel like it was losing any power, and 2nd seemed to pull ALOT harder.

no its not making power up there regardless of how it "feels" on the stock h/c, and do you trust 13 year old single coil valve springs to be doing that?

your stock tach is off by atleast 1000 rpm, a stock 5.0 stops making power between 4800 and 5200 your rod bolts will not hold up at 6000 rpm very long

my autometer reads 5800 when my stock tach is buried at 7000... The stock one is even off at 3000 rpms by about 200.

i've also been told that the 95 GT's and Cobra's didn't have a rev limiter....i'm guessing that info was wrong?
