I really doubt that kit comes with the speed pro coated forged pistons shown.

easily those arent expensive pistons, they are like 40 bucks a peace, leaves another 200 for gaskets etc in the kit

I would, but im just looking for something to get the 302 running again. 351w is what im gonna spend a lot of money on. new tranny, stroker kit, nice heads....
Not worried about top-of-the-line pistons.

will this kit make the 302 good and strong again for simple DD use? no nitrous/forced induction.

what are the chances of finding a good running 302 for cheap from a junkyard? I have a cam in this one that i dont really like taking out and trying to find someone who can help me install it. i have heads as well..

is it really that difficult to install a cam? its already broken in so i dont have to worry right?

I would suggest you make sure you need all of those parts before buying that kit. If you don't need pistons then you won't have to pay for the boring, honing and balancing that comes along with them. You may be able to get out with just a freshening.

If it does need all of that then a JY motor might be the answer. There is a very good chance you can find a motor that just needs to be freshsend.

I have a cam in this one that i dont really like taking out and trying to find someone who can help me install it. i have heads as well..
This is confusing to me. Are you having the motor rebuilt by a shop? If so it's still cheaper to have them freshen a JY motor than to rebuild your block if it needs to be bored. Also if it's a roller cam there is no break-in.

You'll save money with a kit, but get better shit and more what you want piece by piece. I've rebuilt quite a few motors and anytime i'm doing anything that's gonna perform i always buy one thing at a time. But that's just one man's opinion
