buying my first mustang...am i getting a good deal??? PICS inside!!

ok so im all about imports but have been really atracted to stangs for a long time...im about to buy my first one...

89 GT automatic, has 160k and owner says that everything is in perfect working condition...i just love the way the owner painted the car and rims, im not to crazy about the automatic or the seats but i can live with it...

question? how good are automatic 5.0 stangs on the 1/8 track? i would love to take this one to the track and atleast be in the mid 9's, is that posible with an automatic?

ok so heres the pics

so am i getting a good deal? im buying it for $2500 clean title..only bad thing is that need to recharge ac and paint is chiping in side moldings and a little on the back bumper...what do u guys think??

the thing is that i dont really want to start putting tons of money into it..i would like it to be a nice DD and a nice weekend race car with just bolt ons..im not expecting to be in the 9 sec club 1/4 but a nice mid to low 14's in the 1/4 or mid 9,s in my local 1/8 track..

automatic with over drive (aod) autos drag power more so then a stick (5 speed) stock aod's shift very soft, you can buy or biuld a very strong aod.Same motor with a stick will be quicker then that same motor with an auto.

As for choices the four eyed cars (79-86) are way cooler looking and draw ton more lookers then do 87-93 IMO

almost anything is faster with more power but an automatic vs manual power to power the manual will always by faster

i'll race your 5 speed vs. my auto with shift kit in equally powered cars with the same weight/gears and let's see who wins
