Muffler Question

Right now I have BBK Shorty Headers, BBK X-Pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, and tailpipes. Stock 302 but I would like a little more sound out of it. What do you think would be the best way to do this? Buy 1 chambers, bullets,etc...

Run 3 inch tips. Or cut the tailpipes at the muffler and dont't use turndowns. It'll be so loud you can't stand it.

Do turndowns quiet it down that much? I have longtubes with x pipe and single chambers and my car gives me headache with the rumble while going down the highway... sounds good though just dont like the in cab rumble around 2k rpm.

It made a big difference on mine. I worked at a muffler shop at the time and wanted the car to be louder. I had headers and a h-pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters, but was still running 2 1/4 catback. I cut the tailpipes off at the muffler and drove it for a day and could not stand the noise. It sounded good but it killed my ears. So i put the turndowns on it and i was able to deal with the noise. It also made the car quieter. I have H/C/I on the car. I remember someone asking me if i had a bigblock. If it didn't kill my ears I'd probably still have it setup that way. Yeah put turndowns on it they sound good that way too and you wont have a headache.

i took my tailpipes off at the end of the flow tube, alot quieter than just muffler but def louder than tailpipes

get long tubes and run a slp catback. and yeah running no turndowns is definately loud i had bbk equals, O/R H, and flowmaster 40 series cut off at the back and it sounded awesome the only reason i have tail pipes is because i like how it looks with pipes
