steering issues


im having an issue w/ my steering... i have A LOT of play in my steering wheel. can anyone give me any ideas on what it could be?

Best thing to do is lift the front end and shake the tires down to find the play. It could be anything from a tie rod end to a rag joint....

Check your suspension. Look at the inner and outer tie rods. You may need a new rack though. A bad tie rod doesn't usually cause excessive play in the steering wheel.

i had heard about it possibly being a tie rod and ive heard its gonna suck if its the rack. how much am i looking at if its the rack?

well you know how to lift the car right? Shake the tire down left to right on both sides and it should show where the slack is.....

depends on what kind of setup you want, i think it ranges from about $80 to over $400

just switch to a manual steering rack. you'll gain power, lose weight, you're running skinnies up front anyways right?
