Transmission Q's
Alright so my stock AOD is gion its slipping through most of 1st and 2nd after driving for like 45 minutes. My question is ive always wanted it to be a 5spd so would it be worth it to do a swap or should i keep it aod and just throw some extra cash into some performance parts for it. Valve body, shift kit etc...?

if you make any kind of power id build the aod, very tough trannys with a little money dumped in them. But some hate auto's and some love 5 speeds. Just know if you want a 5 speed worth a damn its gonna cost money too, stock t-5s are borderline jokes

I would go with the aod. there is a guy his screen name is silverfox at Click Click Racing that builds them to hold up to 1000 HP for a very reasonable price. I live to far for him to build mine but he sent me all of the parts and is a very cool guy and he also sent me a built valve body which makes it shift harder and faster. he can build it for manual shift or auto or transbrake I believe. he really knows his stuff when it comes to these trans.

also contact silverfox and clickclickracing.com, hes a automatic genius!
the number one killer for an AOD is heat, get a good trans-cooler and see if you notice any improvements |
