new 5.0 ???s

my friend is looking at getting a 88 5.0 5.0 Mustang GT 1988 ((((CLEAN!!!!))))

and im not a 5.0 guy cuz i hav an 04 im pretty sure this cant make 400+ hp with 18 rims and stock gears

any opinions....how much hp does a stock 5.0 make?

not a chance.

they run 215-225 I believe (crank) and the 93 Cobra is 240 crank

I would look elsewhere. a 90k fox is not worth 5,600 dollars.

I see a bbk cold air intake, msd,and a trickflow manifold.. not even close to 300 crank hp

ask him what kind of rockers are in it, what kind of fuel upgrades are in it, if ( obvious one) has an electric fan, what kind of aftermarket pulleys...
ask him if the AC or alternator is the supercharger.. lol stuff like that

That could be nicely setup trick flow HCI that is port and polished. Some people do exaggerate stuff and use ricer math for HP numbers and some people have really nice stuff or a good combination but give weak descriptions of it. You won't know until you see it. Price does seem high either way though unless maybe it is in outstanding shape.

If the car is immaculate...the paint is nice, no dings/dents or scratches and the interior is nice then it MIGHT be worth $5k.
Ask him where the flux capacitor is and will it produce 1.21 jigowatts LMAO

That paint is really shitty looking and the car looks like a pile. But its your friends money but i would try to talk him into looking somewhere else.

It could be a 302 or 306 hci on it... or even a 347 with h/c/i you can check the heads see if they're stock or trick flows... and just have em turn it on to see if it has a cam or anything since he's claiming so much power... probably lying but maybe not...

i mean its got a TF Manifold, intake, and msd ignition and if he's saying P&P heads i mean if they're P&P GT40's, and if it also has a cam in it. 300 RWHP is possible witha good tune and stuff. But even thats a stretch i'd say if its also cammed. its probably a 280RWHP car
