4 Popper Heater Core?


Ever done a heater core change on a 4 popper fox? Huge pain in the ass or what?

I took the dash out the night before so I could have most of the day to cuss at and take a lot of smoke breaks.

Depends on your skill level. I did my 89 3 weeks ago in about 5 hours. I changed the evaporator also but have not recharged tha ac yet. It been too cold to care about that. If your dont know your car it will take a lot longer trying to find all the bolts. I have parted out alot of wrecked foxes so i know where all the bolts are.

if it doesn't have AC its easy..... If you know what your doing it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

i was always told in the four eye'd bugs it just popped out and in the 87 -93 the dash has to come out, ive only changed them on my 89 and i didnt mind it, done worse

No the 4 eye cars the dash also has to come out if it has AC.

Mine is due for one. I'm getting steam through the defrost vent. They aren't to bad though just keep up with all your bolts and get a book so you only pull apart what you need.

Chilton's or Haynes decent enough? Or you got some special book you like? I hate heater cores

Probably. I can't remember which one I used. I did one like 10 years ago.
