Chevy HEI in a ford
Ok so i have a 73 bronco that has a 351w out of a older stang it has the old school ignition with the ignition box. I came across a bronco on ebay that looked to have a hei distributor in a 302. After doing a little research i found you can buy these. Is there away to make your own? As much as i don't like chevy i think they had a hell of a design with that distributor. I have a hei just wondered what or if machining is required to make it work? if this is possible can it be done on my 86 gt as well it would neaten up the engine bay.

They will work in anything, but i dont think you can machine anything to make it work. They custom make those housings.

Seems kind of like overkill; all you really have to do is take a Duraspark distributor and wire its pick-up coil to an HEI module.

Some are custom made. A buddy had one and was def not a cut down chevy dizzy. You would still have to do some work on the drive shaft since ford uses a hex drive for the oil pump and chevy is a flat blade.
