another one of these threads....

so i'm ordering gears trying to decide, if i should go with 4.10's or 4.30's my other question though really is how much can i expect it to help me out...i've got stock gears right now (3.27's) i've had my 1/4 mile time measured at 14.38 @ 94.61 MPH on a crappy street tire.....would the gears and a tire be enough to get me into the 13's even if it were 13.999 ??

haha....what kinda question is this? are you gonna be on a "crappy street tire" when you are hoping to run the 13.999? what kind of driveability do you want?

did the orginal post not say GEARS AND A TIRE...meaning DR's...like i said forget it....don't answer the question was simply asking with a good 60ft. and 4.30's could i likely pick up that amount of time...if the answer is not then simply say no...

some people can be a little rude. sucks it like that around here. take a look at these peoples combos. find one close to what you run and that might give you a "Fair" estimate. i already put it to the page in the time frame you are shooting for. enjoy

just some tires will get you 13's

dr's with a 1.8 and you are in the 13's

you put that much gear and you will have to relearn how to drive the car at the track also

if your really stuck on going on that high of a gear go 4.10's my opinion is 3.73's because i know your a interstate racer

i wouldnt consider that 1/4 mile time you got accurate...go to the track before you start talking about 13's lol

as far as the time i never claimed it to be perfectly accurate, it was using a gtech thing however based on the hp reading that it gave me (232 HP and 274 TQ) everyone seems to thing that it all seems about right with my 1/4 mile time...as for the whole bench racing shit i can't help that where i live all the tracks are closed right now. i plan on going soon as they open in march. as far as doubting my times....if you're doubting my car is a low 14 then i'd doubt yours is a low 13....just saying

i rarely ever race anyone on the interstate....i've been in too much trouble going fast 581 and 81...i don't do that much at all if any. As far as the street racing thing i just do that for now since the track isn't open, a soon as shelor opens i'll be there.
