a good ATAF is key after any kind of job. ATAF = All Tools Accounted For. i'm super anal about making sure i finish with all of my rags and tools that i started with. i think it's just habit though. you kinda pick that up when you work on helos.

Oh I make sure I have everything now. I realized I was missing my rag when I went to wipe some rtv off my hands and I got a bad gut feeling. I got practice at taking the intake off i guess.

Story of my life bro. Had an exercise, we lost a rag, and a 12 hour shift turned into a 15 hour shift . (AF A-10 weapons, BTW)

So I read all the threads. This one and the 3 by the kid who blew his engine. All I can say is WOW.

1.) This is freaking funny!
2.) Never apply a emblim that doesn't have 3M
3.) never give a 16yr old a viper or a shelby!

Bummer on the cars bro!

That was my first shock when I moved into commercial aviation - personal tool control. There's no accountability beyond that.

That's pretty crazy, considering there's quite a few civilian lives at stake if an engine gets FODed out from a socket or something.
