[Booger]

Hey guys i got my motor to run but now i got more issues. first to let yall know i got a 302 with b303 cam, holly carb,points distrib, and mallory fuel pressure reg, and 513 gears.Also this motor is in my truck but im asking yall cause you all have more knowladge than the 4x4 guys.

heres the problem i start it it fires up strong but dies in 5secs start it back up warm it up a bit and it idles ok sometimes stalls, but i drop it in gear and dies. the exhaust smell a bit rich.

heres what im thinking.

pressure regulator? how do i adjust?
carb issue?
vacume issue?

Timming?

i know theres alot of reasons it could happen but just looking for insight.

Check your ignition spark. Points are famous for arcing and giving poor switching, the condensor maybe defective. Sounds like ignition, but maybe someone else has an idea

i once had a problem like that before.but mine wouldnt even idle.i had sapped a corner of the carb from tighten it down too much and didnt relize.the resulting vacum leak is what did it.i would say vacum,check all of your hoses.
