Hey guys i got my motor to run but now i got more issues. first to let yall know i got a 302 with b303 cam, holly carb, points distrib, and mallory fuel pressure reg, and 513 gears. Also this motor is in my truck but im asking yall cause you all have more knowladge than the 4x4 guys.

heres the problem i start it it fires up strong but dies in 5secs start it back up warm it up a bit and it idles ok sometimes stalls, but i drop it in gear and dies. the exhaust smell a bit rich.

heres what im thinking.

check the fuel pump (if its mechanical) by unhooking the fuel line at the carb put your thumb over the fuel line & crank the engine if there is little or no pressure, the the fuel pump is shot. be sure to pull out the coil to distributor wire to prevent ignition.
