well what i mean is from my old block, down the main valley was this piece held down by 2 screws that had 4 arms extending out from each side holding the rollers in place....

my new block i picked up has no spot for me to screw this down...what do i have to do in order to get my rollers to work with this block?

looks like these, but 2 bolts hold it down

I believe that is a non roller block. If you are going to use it you will need to do the conversion.

What year block do you have does it have the boss where the holes go? if so just drill and tap them for the bolts.

xxx is a roller block.. but it's not. Has provisions and slightly taller lifter extrusions. Just have to drill/tap the 4 for the lifter spider as said above.

ditch the HO cam.. atleast put an alphabet cam in there as they are tossed out left and right super cheap.

started to drill and noticed that the 2 spots where i need to drill are right above where the cam is stableized or whatever to the block.

dont have the money to replace all the lifters, what options do i have? do people sell used lifters?

or do i re-buy the spider/retainers that have 3 screws in different location than the one i have (i believe its the ford racing)

either be very careful or knock the cam bearing out and then reinstall the bearing after youve drilled and tapped, hence the pay the machine shop to just do it

only 500 bucks, it costs nothing for you to take the crank/rods/pistons out, just number which one they came from and what direction they faced, take the bare block and some cash, have the work done, then put said crank/rods/pistons back into the right cylinders facing the right direction

i figured i needed to replace all the bearings, which i dont want to do. but if i can do it without replacing those (only 300 miles on the motor) ill rip it apart then.
