Re-torquing roller rockers need help!!!!
I have a 1993 cobra longblock in my car and it came with 1.7 roller rockers from comp cams i just now got 4000 or so miles on the motor and one of the rockers on the driverside seems to knock louder than the rest at idle so i am guna re-torque everything back down but do not know the proper procedure for doing this so if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

If it is making noise, it isn't a pedestal mount rocker issue, perhaps a collapsed lifter or flat spotted roller.

ok you dont think it is that bad of a problem then? becuz one of my buddies builds engines for street/strip cars and said it might have just lossened up from the facotry i am just guna re-torque them anyways to be safe...idk this guy knows his shit and the motors he build are lagit.....his car is in the low ten's at about 6,000 feet so idk i would just guess it was that i mean everything on the motor is new u really think there is a collapsed lifter or flat spot?

If an adjustable valve train rocker backs off it will make noise. If a pedestal mount rocker backs off enough to make noise the bolt will be completely loose and the rocker would fall off or break the bolt. Pedestal rockers do not adjust, they are either bolted down or not.
Possible sources of ticking noise 1) leaking header gasket 2) sticking injector 3) worn out roller on the lifter or rocker 4) misadjusted valve train (yours is nonadjustable, so if it came out of adjustment there is a underlying issue) 5) sticking valve guide 6) burned valve 7) collapsed lifter 8) bent pushrod

okm thanx i appreciate it yea i just talked to him and he said that its a possibilty that i have an exhaust leak but he said the sound is too minor to be a collapsed lifter or a flat spot i mean it sounds like a lifter to me but am guna check my header bolts and i am replacing the injectors so that is taken care of but maybe i will check for a leak first before tearing eveything apart

definitely check the exhaust..if its not a header..check the back of the head to cause i had this little plug back out, causing a leak...

Pedestals suck.... You probably have the wrong rocker arm geometry
