first one ive ever done and i kept gettin side tracked.. also for the pilot bearing i didnt have a puller but never question a motivated marine and a cold chisel and a hammer lol.. that took 2 hrs

all i have left is stab the tranny(after i clean it), drive shaft, and h pipe and alls good

it took me a weekend to do mine and motor and tranny mounts.....i kept runnin into problems....the biggest one being the throwout bearing retainer was jacked up so we had to modify it

before you stab the tranny you need to pull the input shaft and check the mainshaft thats alot of play on the input shaft. call be before you pull it so i can walk you threw it or you will dump bearings inside the tranny.

If you don't have a bearing puller then the next best thing is to pack the bearing hole with grease and use a dowel or bolt the same size as the pilot shaft. Just use a hammer to drive the dowel / bolt into the hole filled with grease, it will push the bearing right out.

I tried that one time. I couldn't get it to work. I ended up buying the tool.

the old one was cast alum and it broke up pretty good

thx the only thing im gonna fix tomorrow that i noticed what was the matter is a small exhaust leak on the drivers side and on the smog pump tube from the h pipe up
