Any benefits to solid motor mounts?

I have a set that I got for free. Just wondering if I should put them in.

as long as you dont run a solid trans mount, the drivetrain has to have some point of flex, if you dont have a point of flex thats when you start crackin bell housings

I wouldn't bother. youre hardly going to see any gain from solid mounts. and if you drive this thing often youre just stressing the drivetrain and cases. I say sell them!

More of a race part.

Solid mounts will transmit more power to the rear, but at a cost of more stress on the chassis and more NVH. Motor mounts aren't *that* much of a pain to swap - I say swap 'em in, just keep your old mounts around in case you hate it, lol.

What Rev said. They are meant more for serious track cars, not daily drivers.

I promise you wouldn't be happy with the amount of vibration transferred to the interior of the car if you drive it daily.

i had them and they were cheap money wise but they raised my motor up an inch causing bad pinion angel and you feel the motor more. keith put them on his motor and snapped an axel first launch. i switched to energy motor mounts and its a whole nother beast sooo much smoother.

I have had good luck with stock mounts and a engine brace that runs from the corner of the head to a bracket hooked to the top of the sway bar mount. the rubber mounts take out the shake and you still have a solid hold on the motor during launch

If your existing mounts are not bad, keep them, if they are bad, swap to the solids you just got or get new poly ones.
I got some Prothane polys from Summit. They seem really strong but they made the engine about .75-1 inch higher than the torn up OEM Ford Mustang convertible mounts that I had.
Most if not all non solid motor mounts made have a solid metal to metal "fallback", meaning if the rubber or poly gets torn up, the metal on both ends will still hold the engine in place allowing you to limp home.

I wouldn't use them in a street car honestly too much vibs transmitted... I've used poly mounts from energy suspension prothane and haven't ever had a problem with them and you can def feel a difference over stockers or warn stockers

Well it's not really a street car. Hell the rear suspension is all soild mount (no rubber bushings).

I've never really noticed much added vibration from running solids in a fox. They already vibrate a lot. Now if you were talking a newer mustang, you might notice the difference.

You should actually feel less vibration with solids vs. shot stock mounts because the motor will not be rocking in the car.

I've put over 15,000 miles on my solids. I've rocked them At the track spraying first etc with zero issues. I didn't notice any more vibrations or anything
