Do 8.8 suspension parts fit 7.5 rear ends?
I know I should get a 8.8 but already over budget on my 83 Convertible 5.0 project, and my 7.5 is in great shape. I want to upgrade the springs and Upper/Lower control arms for now, will these parts fit my 7.5?
Will get an 8.8 eventually so would like to use these parts when I do get one, but want to improve the handling etc. as the original suspension is a V6 GLX, which is softer than air port limo's ride right now. Thanks for any input. |

yes the suspension components are the same, I replaced my '79 7.5 with a 9'' but a 8.8 will bolt right in. Be sure its from a v.8. though if you want traction lock differential

Also, in case you didn't know, the axles are the same for the 7.5 and 8.8 rears. I saved mine from my 7.5 when I did the 8.8 swap so that I would have some spares if I needed them in a pinch.

Thanks guys for the info, at least I will know how it handles before I spend the cash on a 8.8. THe car is just for cruising around etc., so I won't be stressing the 7.5
