Engine Popping

Well it's me again and for some reason my stang is poping just sometimes when you get on it not all the time. Could it be the gas? I just checked my timing and it was 13 deg. So thats all good. I run the most i can get is 91octaine. I have an 88 i did a mass air conversion my computer A9L just went bad and I have a A9S now i have a 5spd could that be the problem? Or could it be a valve and how could I check to see if its a valve?

maybe an exhaust leak?

the most acurate way to check for valve sealing problems is to do a leak-down test and listen at the exhaust port and intake port .. unbolt headers and remove upper intake that way you can tell what cylinder it is coming from.. there might be an easier way but this way is for sure the way to know for sure... but not everyone has a leak-down tester..
