Need help for modifying my mustang

I have an 88 mustang gt 302 5.0 h o convertible Automatic, and i need major help on deciding what parts should go in my mustang. The interior is all stock and still in good condition and the engine is stock 302 and still in good condition. I have $7000 to go ahead and throw in her. One problem is that i need a shop to do all the work because well for one i dont have the skills nor the tools. The car has no paint on it right at the moment it just has the primer and it does need a new top on it. My plans are to first make both back tires push the car instead of one. Also try to push between 400-450hp at the wheel if possible and have the engine to be able to handle 30-40psi on the supercharger. I was told that since my car is a convertible that about 400hp and about that i can twist the frame and im not too sure what to do about that. Im not building this car to take to the track's just to have some fun with and show tuners what american muscle cars are all about > i'm tired of all these newer cars with stock 250+ hp keeping up with me. If you happen to know someone down in Houston texas that is willing to do the work for a nominal fee then please pm me. Thanks, Steven.

hey where in houston are you, thats where i am from.

I would call Houston Performance and talk to them.

They have done alot for me and I am very happy with their work.

They just did my blower and I am at 460 to the wheels.

Watch out for a red 93 lx hatch that will be me.

sell your car for a couple a grand add that to the 7k you have and buy a car with 400-450hp on it. judging by what you have said since you cant do any work yourself labor is gonna kill ya no matter where you take it! say you get 2 grand for your car...Just a number i have not seen your ride but from what i get from your post needin a top paint ect prob not worth much more than 2k or so. anyway thats 9k you will have and you will easily be able to get a car that kicks ass... be sure to have someone who knows Mustangs shop with you.. so you dont get ripped of from buyin a hacked car or something.... Thats what I would do if I could not work on cars.... Little tip for ya if you are gonna own a modded mustang ya better learn otherwise you are at the mercy of the shop owner..and that sucks because he will smell your inexperience like a piece of fresh meat....

mod the stang

but first, since its convertible, go wit chassis stiffening, cuz hittin corners is gonna bend ur car up

trust me, i got a vert and the doors need to be re-aligned (and i only got a 4banger)

and for a couple grand u can put ur stang into the 400hp range.. so y sell it?

dude he cant do any of the work himself. its not worth it... for the money he has and what he could get for his car he could pick up a bad ass vert that he would never be able to build with that amount of money payin someone 4 labor. plan on at least half that cash goin towards labor...remember besides mods he needs paint and a top. never be able to get all that 4 that amount of cash.....

The top and the paint can go for less than 1k i have the hook up on that
All im worried about is the labor for the engine. Im not worried about modding the seats or the back seat or with special paint. Just worried about making the engine better.

guy.. do the paint and cosmetics. Then do 3.73. Then put a nice exhaust.. then do frame stiffener, thicker wheels, stiffer springs, performance bushing shocks/struts.. then when your rear is ready plop a blower on that puppy and you will be making 400+ hp

1. not everyone here is a mechanic, learn by doing it, its not that hard

2. buy the tools, they're not that expensive

3. he gets ripped off buying mustangs for retarded prices anyways so y does it matter if he has to pay for labor

dude.

What Blower would you suggest? I have the same question, I have a 90 GT w mac exhaust from the header back & 373's in the rear. I was thinking about getting the BBK intake manifold w a 75mm TB and vortech supercharger (the 2nd from the smallest one). So what do you think, am I headed in the right direction or no?

lots of times you can get a good deal on a stang for a low price. I gave 5800 for mine and it is loaded with shit.. 94 cobra 5.0 with s/c. 2000 miles on engine. If you are happy with your car then that is what is important dont let anyone diss you because you paid too much for it.
