vortech oil pan tap

I mounted my blower last night... got all the brackets on. the instructions on the vortech say to punch my pan with it on the car. Is this even safe to do really?

why would you punch it? that would just piss it off and make it uncooperative. i would make a small hole though. it prbly says to do it while the pan it on because its a major pita to get it off, just use a brass punch if you worried about it brass=no spark

punch is fine, if you tap and drill which is more risky make sure to pack it with tons of grease to grab all the shavings so they don't drop into your pan.. eitherway you have to or should change your oil after the install before startup
