the easiest way to switch from efi to carb in your case is the search option

heres a list of the things ive come up with from all the people that have asked. (you can modify yours to your liking) 1. holley blue fuel pump 2. regulator 3. carb 4. intake 5. braided steel, or pushlock, size -8 line running from tank to pump, than pump the reg. 5. sump your existing fuel tank 6. air filter 7. fuel log (or you can run seperate lines to the carb, whichever) 8. buy you some jets for tuning 9. throttle cable and bracket, return springs 10. carb application distributor, i used msd thats all i can think of for now

There is nothing wrong with going carburated folks. EFI is great for superchargers and turbos and even making daily drivers more efficient. You may not be old enough to remember, but early efi was called throttle body injection. Basically the fuel was mixed into the intake air stream at the throttle body. That's pretty much how a carburator works. You can make great and powerful engines with either one. I personally prefer efi. My 14 year old daughter thinks carburators and old cars are the most beautiful things she has ever seen. Go figure.....

i've looked for it on here too. most of the threads concerning this start with the question. then two or three posts about how he's dumb for wanting to switch. and then three pages of darrell and ryan fighting over what's better. not much real info.

![]() but seriously, i'm really thinking about going this route too. my engine is... well... gone. and i'm pretty much starting from scratch. possibly going with a shortblock from Woody to get things started. gotta figure out my plan of attack though first. oops. not trying to jack the thread. efi to carb.... go.

I'll let you all in on my woes then so u know where I'm at...
87 4cyl... just died. electrical issue. 88coupe.. bought for 500bux. pulled the motor and had it hot tanked. Some huge 8"x5" square above the crank at the rear was pushed out of the block. mint cylinder walls too.. so we all had a cry and sent that block to the scrapper heavens. 89GTCOUPE - 304ci, TFTW heads, TFS1 cam, GT40intake, TF23lb inj, Eddy70mmTB, T5 w CFDF clutch, 3.73gears and SN95 5bolt conversion. The 87 will donate parts to the other cars... interior to the 88 and handles and crap to the 89. The 88 will become my carb car. I have a holley 750carb ready to go but now need a new powerplant for it. That is all.

1. intake
2. carb 3. throttle cable & bracket from a carbed mustang 4. Dist from an 85 5.0 ( with the steel gear ) 5. duraspark box 6. I got a fuel system from summit for @ 200 bucks you may have to mod your cooling lines a bit if you choose to do away with the metal lines
