Thanks Mlx I'm pretty happy with it. So, I talked to Bob Kurgan the other day and I'm scheduled for a chip/tune on the 16th. I'm hopeing to get some video of the tune, with a real camera not my phone this time.

so im not half as motor smart as some of these guys on here, but i know this, every motor will last as long as the person driving it lets it, if you build a 331 and a 347 in two car, then go out and stomp on the gas, throwin the tach past redline, all your gonna measure is how many seconds it takes to throw a rod...a 331 and a 347 are DAMN NEAR brother and sister motors, they share alot of the same shit, and the idea of a stroke kit is the same, but "myths" as to premature failure are exactly myths, nobody can tell you how much abuse or how many passes youll get out of it, every motor is built different...now you all can bash me for bein a noob and stating a dumbass opinion, but its still my opinion!

ps- "ftw"...fuck the world???

The extra cubes from the 347 vs 331 are the stroke length.

Stroke size makes a huge difference for hp and torque..

go build a 331 and build a 347, use the same cam, heads intake and make them the same comp ratio and see how much power difference there is. Not much............................

what is it a .25 dif in stroke 3.25 in a 331 and almost 3.5 for a 347

Hopefully people will still see this... I didn't see the sense in posting a new thread for this as though it has to do with this build...
The car starts with no problems now, idling is a whole different issue. I read the sticky on setting base idle and I checked power to the plug on the harness side of the TPS sensor, my reading was .007v not even close to operating range. I thought this might have been from a vacuum leak... fixed the vacuum leak, still a problem... Checked wiring and re-soldered the wires, v-reading was the same, still a problem... Here's a quik video of whats going on any ideas on what to check next would be awsome, I need this fixed before the tune.

no, there's no check engine light... and I retested the TPS sensor and got a .938v reading, meaning I'm in range for the sensor... So wtf lol, I have no idea.

damn, id say you need some new JDM exhaust bearings..those tend to go out when your steering wheel is turned all the way to the left, another possibility is that your brake light fluid is low...

sorry, had to.

but id say get a obd 1 system checker and see if it throws anything! even if the light aint on. possibly fuel related? how does it run with positive throttle?

I f*cking hope so... he sounds like a real nice guy, knows what he wants from his customers, and sounds like he wants to help... Like I'm not just another customer but his nephew or something like he wants the best for my car and I haven't even met the man yet. Real excited to say the least.

Yeah thats what my buddy and I have been thinking, but I'm not sure yet... It might be my intake sucking down air once I shut down the motor... Only reason I think that is because my throttle is open a significant amount just to start the damn thing... let me know some tricks of the trade...
