can some one please help me with my super charger set up

i just purchased a used powerdyne supercharger system, it came with instructions but it does not say anything about having to have a blow off valve. i have a stock 5.0 coupe, and i need to know what all i need to get it going, i also need to know if there is suppose to be a gasket between the compresser housing and the charger ?

are you asking if you need a blow off valve?

by pass valves help to prevent losing power at part throttle situations... I don't think base kits came with them but I never liked powedynes personally so I never paid too much attention to them. I'd say if it's going to be putting out more then 6lbs of boost then you need a bypass valve, just go to somewhere like superchargersonline.com and order one to suite your needs

have no idea about the gasket as i've never touched a powerdyne unit

you wont need a blow off valve even at 10 pounds with that supercharger, although i wouldnt recommend goin up to that psi.

That powerdyne wouldn't make 10psi if it tried.

I believe Vortech recommends a bypass when going above 6#.
My own question..
A blow-off dumps metered air, does that cause noticeable issues because of spiked changes in A/F ratios? A lot of people use them so it must not be a problem?

i dont think i quite understand your question? the blow-off valve shoots all the air that stays in the inlet tube when the throttle body slams closed out, and sometimes it has a tube from the blow off valve goin back to the power pipe to re circulate the air. maybe that will answer your question

You didn't

A blow-off sends air that was metered and calculated by the mass air sensor out to the atmosphere. A bypass sends it back to the suction of the S/C. Does the fact that using a blow-off throws metered air out of the intake mess with or cause spikes in the A/F ratio and is that a problem or is it too short of thing to even matter?

I have a bypass and it works fine, I am just wondering if there any side effects with using a blow-off.
