Just wondering on some info on upgrading my 89 cobra. I;m in the process of pulling out the motor & figured I may as well upgrade. I'm planning on racing this summer perhaps. any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I may sound dumb but what you just said is new info to me. I had no idea they made an 89 cobra.

But as for your question. get a top end kit, stroke the motor, gears, pullies, drag radials or slicks, short throw shifter (if it is a manual)...What is your budget?

Canadian Mustangs are Cobras. My 91 GT was a "91 Cobra".

It says 89 GT Cobra right on the Vehicle Certificate of Registration. I have a 2 year old so the budget is tight. It is a 5 speed. Ive been told to stick a B cam in it or E cam. Any suggests? Which would be a better choice? I got stock gears now soon to be replaced with 3.73's.

so is it stock right now? If so, dont bother with a cam, get the gears, short throw shifter, pullies, cold air intake, and some drag radials and that should spice up that lil beast before the sufficiant money is available. Hope this helps.

If you didnt know, "NOS" stickers are now producing huge numbers that are proven on the dyno. 100 horse power for each sticker!

well i think your best bet would be to save up about $2500 and buy a top end kit. Heads are one of the major flaws to these engines when trying to make the car better. Get you a good set of twisted wedges or afr's and you should be set. add the rest of the top end to match and that should put you over 300 horses.

i know you're are still learning and all but dont give out false info like that.

NOS stickers only add 75 HP.

Get some TFS heads, intake, Stage 1 cam and suspension work. Rear: HPM Sr lowers, some dbl adj uppers, Moroso Trick rear springs and QA1 adj shocks. Front, 90/10 struts Moroso trick springs about 2 springs cut and drop some weight from car!
