Do the gaskets still have color and you cant really tell if its been rebuilt by this but its good to know... how is the compression? I know if I rebuilt my motor I wouldnt put the stock heads back on.

It's pretty common for the stock motor to last that long. Don't think just because it has that many miles it's been rebuilt. Sounds like a pretty solid running engine for those miles

Where I agree with you that 5.0's can last a long time with the proper maintenance and up keep (and not beating the hell out of the car) your friend was very lucky to run an engine that long with a shot of 250 and nothing happen...this is very unusual and not the norm

With the Rod angularity of a 302 and factory forged pistons, it really make a long lasting setup. I know plenty of daily driver stangs in my area with over 200k on them. Still running as hard as ever..

BUT, just because your rings are fine (good compression) doesn't mean your rod/main bearings are 100%. I would recomend oil changed around 2500 miles instead of every 3000. Can't hurt anything right? and if it does blow up, I see a Chicken bot BUILD THREAD

i guess your not from oklahoma. and his dad an an oil change shop, so the upkeep wasnt a problem. the only thing he had trouble with was keeping the T-5's from breaking. just because YOUVE never seen it done, or not that much, doesnt mean its not normal.
