Do i need new Quarter glass if i paint my car?

Hey guys i saw some pictures of different guys painting their cars and i see a lot of them pull out the Quarter glass and i was wondering if that ruins the seals and if i would have to buy new ones or if i can get them back in there to seal correctly.

I just want to make sure b/c i am planning to paint my car soon, once i get all my parts. And i saw a deal on craigslist for the glass for only $50 for both. But if my old glass and seals will work again then thats good. Thanks for the help though guys! Sorry if this is a dumb questions.

naw, no need to relpace, just scrape off the old adhesive and use new sealer when you put it back in

then after that you should probably put new glass in

When w epainted my car allw e did was tape it off.

Green ductape only. Buy the good shit.

ok cool thanks guys, really appeciate it. Do or did you guys use a special adhesive to get them back on, or any recommendations? Or does pritty much anything work? Also do i need a special tool to get them off or they come off pritty easy? Thanks again!

tape it off with painters tape, worked like a charm for me and only took 5 minutes

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

With how easy it is pop these windows out, the trim finish will look 10x better. After a few years, that trim line will crack and start chipping, no matter how well you tape it off.

green duct tape WTF? dont do that you will be peeling sticky shit off the car for weeks. use the blue painters tape to tape shit off, but things like that i reccomend taking off so you can check for rust

You should take em out and use Lexan inserts. I thinks it costs somewhere around $100 and some rivets. then put the windows off to the side under your bed if you ever need to use them later. Harwood Lexan Kit - Window Install - Weight Reduction - Hot Rod Magazine or Pro Glass - Preformed Lexan Windows Formed Polycarbonate Canopies Windshields Windscreens or Glasstek Fiberglass Body Components & Preformed Lexan Windows

Well i dont think i need to go that far and Rivit my windows, i dont think ill be running in the 9's anytime soon,lol.
