they make these little things that fix it at the auto parts. call them up and tell them your situation. or you could tap it out, but that means pull your pan so the shavings dont get in between your bearings.

This may sound over the top, but why not get a new oil pan? This way you will have new gaskets also. Stock pans arent that much from the local parts dealer. I say "Dealer" because those damn parts are like drugs to us 5.0 heads! Just can't get enough, hahahaha.

alright thanks guys.. always know i can get some good advice on here.. so you think a local parts store is the best bet for a new one... figured since i would have to pull it to tap it mine as well get a new one if there cheap... are they hard to replace or do you just drop that sway bar and unbolt?

why get a new pan if you can put in a heli coil or use a self tapping bolt? you have to pull the engine out a considerable amount to change the pan out. if your gonna replace the pan just get an aftermarket with a windage tray an go ahead an get a better oil pump too. increase performance and fix the prob all at once. oil splashin around on the crank and all that uses 15% of the engines power from what i heard.

Put heavy grease on the tap, no shavings will get in the pan they will stick to the grease. I've done a number of vortech oil drains this way and never had to remove the pan. Also a magnetic pan bolt is useful.
