Need Wiring Help ASAP

anybody know how i can wire the fuel level gauge in my notch? a friend of mine was cuttin out wires for me and didnt think about the gauge cluster and cut the wires out for that too. as far as i know all i can do is cut the wires out of my hatch and put em in the notch? but which wires up top? should i just follow from the back of the car to the front? btw the cluster and tank are out of the hatch which was 5.0 but the notch was a 4cyl car and the connector is different. should i just get the connector off the hatch and then the connector from the cluster or just the whole harness?
