white start up smoke


Car smoke on startup after highway drives, compression tested good according the shop when they had it in for what turned out to be a bad dizzy. Any Ideas?

its white smoke, thinkin oil right? i thot water/coolant was blue.

Yeah, oil generally has a blueish tint, and coolant is generally white... smells like pancake syrup(to me).

hahaha ok i guess i had that one backwards, my oil seems to be coolant free, so it must be leaking somewhere other than head gasket right?

Possibly a cracked head? Cracked lower manifold? Maybe a bad throttle body? just thinking alloud...

is it gray or white? if it's gray(ish), that could be a sign of not enough fuel, bad PCV.

it is greyish, but that was going to be my next question, timing is spot on, however plugs look lean, but car smells EXTREMELY rich and gets about 6mpg city. i go 80 miles/tank

PCV valve is brand new btw

80 miles to the tank! wtf. I get 177 to a tank hci car ripping on it.

yeah i cant for the life of me figure out why, the only thing i can think is the 24s are leaking constantly

just about, the quarter mile is still roughly stock times tho, all the wheelspin hahaha im hoping im pushing 220 rwhp

even 1000 HP cars get better mileage than that, seriously. i got 21 MPG with my old 347. anyway you NEED to figure out the problem, especially if you have a fuel leak. or else your gonna find you watching your car burn to the ground.
