What Is The Widest Tire I Can Fit On My 89 Fox

went to dobbs today. I asked if they'll mount 235/60/15 on my car he said NO!!!!

They only want me to stick with 225/60/15.

Talking bout the back tires on factory wheels.

Need some help.

That guy must be a tire nazi or something.. I have put a 255/50/16 on a stock pony wheel and didn't even think twice about.. Hell you could probably fit a 275 on there.. I don't know why he wouldn't put that tire on your car?? I'm assuming your running a 7" wide pony wheel? Some people are putting 315's on a 8" wheel..

I really need tires bad too. The front are very good. The back are bald.......you all know why.

I'm still running the quad shocks keep that in mind.

I'm wanting to get 245/60/15. But now I have tires rubbing in my head cause of the dobbs guy

go to a different shop....some places do this for liability issues.....i work at walmart tire and lube(dont laugh im majoring in electrical engineering so its just a job)...but we have strict rules about putting different size tires on and stuff....trying to avoid vehicle failure and the law suits that follow....

the widest you can go safely is 245/60 or 255/50 i believe

depending what tire shop it is the mangers have strict rules about tire sizes at wal mart i could only put the tire size that the manufacturer prints on the door jam on the car. so id go somewhere else

I used to run 265/60/15's on my 88 with the 10 holes. Now they would rub if you had a lot of flex like going into a driveway or something.

235's are perfect. Thats what i'm running now. No problems what-so ever.

275 fits nicely with proper backspacing.

255/50/15 would look nice
