Runs pretty good but no oil pressure
ok so i had the thread about the pcv valve problem and such well i replaced that and replace the coil wire and it runs and idles pretty good....idk if im gettin full power because idk how fast it should be with the new stuff
my main problem is NO OIL PRESSURE unless i rev it pretty good i havent plugged the smog holes on the heads yet...could this be the reason? also i got coolant in the oil but i started it up to make sure it was all flushed down and then changed it but the oil looked like coffee with creamer in it and kinda lumpy..... i also changed the oil again tonight and it was already black but any ideas on the oil pressure....could i have just messed up the sensor somehow....how can i tell if i have oil pressure other than the guage |

Well if u got coolant in oil then that will have an effect on oil pressure.. Not sealed right somewhere...

My stock gauge has never worked properly.. you can put a mechanical one on temporarily to see if thats your problem.. the oil pressure port is right by your oil filter. The stock sending unit is there.. it is a round cylinder looking thing about 1" diameter and about 2" long, with a wire plugged on top of it.
I have a nice "tool," its a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the end of a 2 foot long hose. It just screws into the oil port so you can check what oil pressure you have, without going through the trouble of running a line and mounting up a mechanical gauge. ..The smog port holes wont affect oil pressure, but they need to be plugged.

You mixed coolant and oil and put it back in the car after the intake swap?

It would have been better if he didn't run it at all with the coolant in the oil, and drained the oil right after he replaced the intake instead. Remember, water is heavier than oil, so the water immediately went to the bottom of the oil pan, where the oil pump pickup is. Running it with that coolant in there even for a few seconds pumped the coolant thru the oil pump, the oil galleys in the block, the heads, the crank, all the bearings, everything. Not good...

They say that you want 10 PSI oil pressure minimum for every 1000 RPM...
A stock gauge doesn't tell you accurate oil PSI. The main idea of the stock gauge is to show you change in oil pressure. If it ALWAYS stays at a certain point, then all of a sudden it shows nothing, you may have a problem. If you want an accurate reading, get a mechanical gauge.
