need HCI adivce...
This is my first thread...just gettin used to the site.
Up until now most of the work I have done on my car has been minor bolt ons (i.e. msd 6al, bbk shorty's, full exhaust, ac delete, cooling system upgrades, cold air, MAF...all the standards), full suspension work, and lots of paint and body work considering the car was in rough shape (no rust just faded paint and a few dings) when i got it. Over the summer I blew the tranny and decided to pull the motor and tranny to clean up the engine bay, build a new more powerful motor, and rebuild the T5. I ended up routing the wiring harness through the federwells, sealing up and smoothing the whole bay. Basically the car has been off the road for some time now. I have the bottom end put together, the block was boiled, crank was polished, stock replacement connecting rods, pistons, and rings. Getting ready to put the top end together and just wanted to get some suggestions for heads, cam, and intake combos, as well as pushrod lengths/brands, rocker ratios, and types. After the motor is broken in I want to supercharge it with a vortech s trim (low boost though 6-10 psi). From my research I think I will run AFR 185cc heads Edelbrock Performer RPM II With the rebuild kit came a comp cams 220/224 magnum series cam. Other than that I need suggestions for a better cam, unless this one will suffice, for rockers, or for a better combination. The overall purpose of this car is to be driven on the street, with plenty of horsepower (hopefully after the supercharger between 375-400hp) Let me know what you guys think and for any suggestions/reviews of the parts. Thanks |

Sounds like you have money to play with......
Erase all the ideas out of your head.... Go for Canfield 195 heads , billet custom cam and matching springs for the cam. Can be had from Camshaftinnovations.com for 1800 ..... Then decide between a victor efi or a spyder style intake.

Clean car dude that has to be one of the cleanest GT's I've seen. Custom cam, some TW heads and Victor JR will be nice.

AFR or TFS heads, custom cam (refer to cam shop for springs), victor jr intake converted to EFI or a TFS intake, whichever suits you best.

soo i don't want to offend anyone but i've heard of guys having really big problems with trickflows products...i.e. coolant leaks, fuel leaks, blown headgaskets. A lot of problems in general from multiple people, I dont know if this is just coincidence but I've always thought AFR was relatively top of the line. Am i off the mark on this?

I've heard TFS heads flow more cfm per cc. Never heard of anyone having problems with them.

Beautiful GT man, any pics of the harness in the fender I just finished mine up and was trying to see any differences...? Maybe you did something else that I should look into?
