i can buy a ported holley systemax intake upper and lower from a friend is it worth it?

hes a good friend, so like 400, and it comes with a 1 inch spacer.

go for it....if it was a good porting job then its better than stock....and stock is around 600 bucks aint it

Be careful with the spacer. As far I as I know, Holley did not make a spacer for it themselves. I've read about the area around the bolt holes cracking with spacers but I'm sure that would apply to any intake with a spacer if not bolted down correctly. That sucks too because that intake hangs really low on the drivers side and any valve cover bigger than stock will have clearance issues.

ya its all brand new, and with that spacer there should be plenty of room for valve covers, as for the ports they match perfectly.

i wouldn't expect miracles compared to the ported Cobra though unless you plan on or have a bunch of other stuff. The Systemax is a higher RPM intake, the higher the RPM you can still make decent power, the better the Holley will be. Maybe above 4500-5500 but as a trade off you will most likely be giving up some torque on the low end. Again, it depends on what other things you have.

it has a boss 302 block 347 stroker with vortec s-strim blower pushing 14 pounds, heads are afr 205cc.
