hahah suuureee... a lot of details for a hypothetical story
well comforting to know its happened to the best of us. the body shop that painted the bay matched the tone of the paint and the metallic flake perfectly, so hopefully they will be able to do the same on the cowl area, now i just gotta get it straight enough so it looks at least or better than it did before!

no tears...broken knuckle though. got wicked fuckin pissed and punched the shit outta my garage door when i got home. then took a few breaths...took my truck for a ride, ripped on the big turbo diesel for a while, drove around like an asshole, and then came back home and worked on it with my pops...who was surprisingly optimistic and refrained from calling me an idiot which was well deserved at the time haha. i WAS saving for my new exhaust, now it looks like im saving up for paint work

ya the cowl is kinda trickey there is a special jack style tool i remember using i am sure you can find something i would let the body shop do all of it i am sure it wouldnt take them long and it proly wont cost that much to fix.

Holy balls that sucks about the hood flying up but maybe this will give you a reason to repaint that hideous two tone paint scheme...its queer.
Hope everything comes out alright man...I remember how much time you said went into that hood cuz it didnt fit too good

Yeah, think positive man... in the end all it takes is time and money. I think thats a great idea about the cowl panel, smoothing the wiper blades. But if it were me, I would leave that are open and just get one of those cowl covers for gauges, seeing as though you already have the cowl hood... maybe some mechanical gauges? Either way sorry bout the hood same happened to me as well as many others ie: esean.
With how far you've come this is still a minor bump in the road, nice work

thanks guys for the positive encouragment, im kinda over it already...lookin at under a grand to fix it so its no big deal, coulda been worse right! haha and 88 t top...thats a running joke between me and 87floridagt haha...every time though, i forget that his car has the same paint job and it sparks a little anger hahaha. havent decided what to do yet bout the cowl...my buddy brough up a good point, that in ct the only things you NEED on your car to register it are wipers, e brake, and head/tail lights and signals...so idk if the no wipers thing will work! maybe theres a loophole haha.

That's a good point you might need wipers to be legal, and that law might differ state to state

That happened to me. i went to a j/k cut out a replacement cowl for 80 bucks. a lot of work later and a new windshield later and it's good as new. I had absolutely no experience in anything like this at all but i was quoted 1300 to have it fixed and i couldn't see paying that so i dug in and it turned out great . You just have to drill out about 160 spot welds !!!

So guys,

Been forever since I have been on here but I figured I would give you all a glimpse at the newest updates to the car. A whole nother season came and went and shes still not on the road...finishing up the last few details.

Got some new wheels for it too just havent picked up any tires yet, but they are sweet as hell. Goin a little more drag style, 17" skinnies in the front and 15" x 10" out back!

Anyways, below is a video of the new exhaust finally built and installed. If any of you remember I was talking Kooks with a dr gas x and spintech mufflers. Wellll I opted for something a little different!

1 7/8" stainless primaries, stainless laser cut and cnc port matched flanges (port matched them at work), 3" stainless collectors w/ vbands. 3" stainless mid pipes to 3" bullets dumped right before the rear tires. Sound nasty and now you can really hear the cam.

gettin a final tune in the next couple of weeks here and some tires as well. Then its time to hit the streets for whats left of the nice weather in New England. Well hope you guys enjoy, let me know what you think!

Pics...

My buddy paul who did all the fab work on the headers and exhaust. No more tools than a hack saw a belt sander a sharpie a vice and some wrenches/plyers...and oh yea the most badass miller tig welder made.

rainin rainbow beads

Thanks for looking guys.
