so after like head work and intake manifolds and everything it just accepts the increase of flow? how does that work?

Just make sure your new headers have a provision for your o2 sensor. this system tunes itself, the computer reads the air/fuel ratio thru the o2 sensor changing the ratio if needed thru the injectors and the amount of air flowing thru the mass air meter located in the intake tube near your air filter. as you open the throttle the computer also reads the throttle position via the throttle position sensor located on the throttle body then advances timing and fuel as needed.
If you go with better heads you should get bigger mass air and injectors to keep up with the higher airflow/fuel needs
Speed density systems don't have the mass air meter. Have Fun.

i agree. it is a leaning computer. you mass air adjusts you injector duty along with tour tps and o2s. as far as the injector and mass air swap, im running a 306 w/stock mass air and 19# injectors and a anderson pms and the injector duty cycle at wide open throttle is only 35% so you don't always have to upgrade with heads cam and intake

One thing you want to consider when increasing air intake and exhaust output is your engines timing. You might want to increase your timing to about 16 degress in cool weather and about 12 degrees in warmer weather.

If it's a stock 88, what mass air?
Should be speed density.
