Door poppers


My buddy wants to shave his door handles in his 85 lx and he wants to know if you need automatic doors?

ya kno, alot of tracks dont allow u to race with shaved door handles

unless he has a button for the windows on his keys, then yes. or if he wants to get in thought the rear every time, his choice.

i guess its a saftey issue, but alot of tracks ive been to, or had friends that have gone wont let u race ur car if u have shaved door handles

So, why do they allow full fiberglass cars to race? (no doors at all, let alone door handles).

And yes, if he shaves his door handles, he needs actuators and a solenoid......for each side.

I have shaved door handles on my car, just the drivers side has a actuator. No, havent had any problems at the track

well when your runnin 14 seconds plus they dont usually worry about you runnin into the wall and burstin into flames

I have shaved door handles. The local tracks told me the only way they would let me run the car is if I left the remote with one of the guys on the safety crew. There is a big difference between full fiberglass bodies and doors that have no handles. Fiberglass bodies lift off. Every track is different though. Some tracks might not care. The best thing to do if you are concerned about it is to talk to the local track before you shave the handles.
