IM A NOOB


Ok im officially a noob. I dont know what a pushrod motor is compared to a.. modern ? motor.. can someone just let me know how like the internals of a 302 are and why you can never find how many valves in the damn 302 their are.. Pushrod.. hmm idk

Google + Wikipedia are your friend. Your homework assignment is to read about pushrod engines and then tell US how many valves are on a 302.

No, he came here to learn. You can't answer for him.

Check this out for additional reading.

Read all this to see the difference between pushrod and "modular" motors.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/camshaft.htm

These won't tell you how many valves there are, but read them carefully and take a good educated guess.

8 cylinders....X 4 valves each, (2 exhaust, 2 intake)= 32 valves in a DOHC

ok well a basic 302 v8 has 2 valves per cylinder and goes the same with most single cammed v8s but to a dual cammed motor it could have 32 valves which is 4 valves per cylinder or 24 valves 3 valves per cylinder which is only in up to date motors

the first 4.6 mustang motors onlt had 2 valves per cylinder to but your answer is 2 per cylinder times 8 is? the way i leaned internals was to find a junk block, dissasemble, and learn. don't worry! i've heard alot dumber questions
