Opinions on custom interior
Hi everyone i'm new to the forums here and am looking for some opinions on my attempt at re-doing my interior. It was terrible before and smelt like smoke so bad I couldn't breath.
Here's a pic of the car ![]() and the interior when I got the car, there wasn't a carpet when i got it but i threw it in before i took the pic. ![]() I re-upholstered the seats ![]() And painted some of the dash pieces ![]() And I finished the headliner today. And I plan on painting the car gray to match the interior

looks like the headliner is done just needs the trim pieces put back on. I love doing interior I just cant do seats. I can do fiberglass work on the dash and doors and fabric on the doors dash headliner, everything but seats pretty much. But my wife is kick ass with a sewing machine so she is going to try to do the seats on mine and we will see how it turns out.

oops put the wrong pic on there. Yeah I didn't have the trim pieces on yet. And seats have definetly been the hardest part so far, it's kinda lame but my mom gave me sewing lessons lol.

Thanks for the compliments guys. And the for the ceiling I took the original headliner off and striped the fabric off of it. The stuff I used is fabric and it was actually called headliner. Its just a thin piece of fabric glued to a piece of foam. Just lay the original headliner piece with the fabric striped off of it (its like a piece of cardboard) over the fabric you are going use and trace out the patern onto the fabric (trace onto back side of fabric so your marks dont show up later). Then use spray adhesive, its like $3, to attach the fabric to the cardboard piece (it helps if you spray both pieces with the adhesive and let it dry for a while (until it isn't wet to touch) that way you can peel it off if you put it on wrong, and when you have it right a good amount of pressure will make it stick. Altogether the headliner cost me $20 to make. Its pretty simple even though I worded it confusingly. haha

so theres a guy in my area that said he would do my whole interior including custom door panels and reupholstering the seats along with the dyeing the gray plastic parts black. he said $2000 for it all and another $40 for custom embroidery on the door panel. is this a good deal?

I really have no idea man. It sounds a little expensive to me, but thats probably because its specialized labor. I chose to tackle this myself because im cheap, im sure you would see much better results than mine with a professional. And here's the book I am using

So it didn't get them done that night. I made some progress on them today, but I can't finish because I need to use spray adhesive and it doesn't work so well when its 30 degrees out and my mom won't let me use the stuff inside
So any ways heres what I have so far, let me know what you think of the design. The stripe and the GT will be red while the door panel will be the grey that the pieces are laying on. ![]() The camera made the arm rests look wierd. They are a darker grey and they aren't shiny. haha
