whats a good rmp to launch at on street tires? i would say im pretty good and quick at shifting and i found that the best rpm is around 5600 to shift at. all i need to know is what to launch then i think i can be in the low to mid 14's

It would not take too much to beat your dad's '07 GT, which only runs mid 13's stock. You say 14's are slow...but even mid 13's are slow by today standards. I am NOT impressed with the new mustangs. Ford added power over the years but also increased weight.

That track had worse traction then the street for the first 60ft. Maybe the combination of left over chemicals and rubber does not work well with street tires. With my stock GT with 2.73 gears, launching at 2000 rpm and feathering the gas until about 20 seemed the best. 2.73s are a little tricky though as it is very easy to bog down if you don't spin. Spinning street tires to heat them is pretty much useless, a little to clean off any stray water or debris but any more then that is a waste. I see people doing it all the time but it never helped me any.
