Electric Fan

hey guys, my new radiator and electric fan came in, I just bought the kit for the electrical stuff at Pep boys for the fan, can someone walk me through the installation though. I have no idea what I'm doing, do i bypass the pulley and have to get a new belt now? I'm so lost, I don't know where to tap for the wires or anything, please help!

the pulley also runs your water pump, not just the fan.

That's the exact article I was thinking about.

But yeah, we can't help you much with wiring it up unless we know what kind of kit you're looking at.

Yeah, you need the trans cooler.

So what's the story? Why are you buying a completely new cooling system?

........Hmmm?, never touched a belt, just took off the stock clutch fan.

..No directions for the wiring???........Been awhile since i put mine in...Think it was just one wire to constant power (batt)..One wire to switched power (anything that comes on with the ignition)...and a ground of course.

...Or you can loop the switched wire back to the fan, and run it off the thermostat that's built in the fan. (if you have that kind??)...The fan will run when the car is off untill cooled down to whatever the thermo is set to.

Don't know if that helps ya at all??...Good luck!

i needed to go with a whole new cooling system because my radiator leaks like a seive, my dad once again "came through" but with mixed results lol. I'm having a hard time finding an auto trans cooler though. I drive an 88 gt, can someone maybe direct me, I'm such a noob with some of this stuff

first, i ran my fans power wire right to the battery. that way the fan cools till the engine bay temp is down. second, you can find a trans cooler on a ford areostar in the bone yard.....cheap and it has a fan on it too. if you are going to put the fan on a foxbody, you might want to upgrade the alternator to a higher amperage or a 94-95 alternator which is 130 amps. just remeber to grab the wire pigtail when you are at the boneyard. good luck bro

I installed my fan with this article and my fuse keeps blowing up. Also does any one know where to get the 75amp relay? for some reason the auto stores around here don't have it.
