Tranny Rebuild - Where should i get parts?

Hey guys, ok so i am planning to rebuild my Tranny. It needs it, and have called a few places and they are saying the price will depend on what parts i need, makes sense but they said upwards of $1200. I was like F that.

So i am thinking of possibly rebuilding it myself ( not sure yet ) But i at least want to know where i can get parts and how much they cost.

Its a Tremec 3550 and it grinds going into 2nd and thats it. Im hoping its just the syncro's but i dunno.if ya think it prob. is or might even be something else, please let me know.

So my questions are where can i get parts, and what do ya think i will need parts wise ( if i do it myself, i hear there are a lot of little parts, but i figure if ya just keep track and write it down ya should be ok ) And do ya think i can do it or is it too difficult. Thanks for the help guys.

Ive been trying to find a website i can buy a syncro or rebuild kit at for my Tremec 3550 But i dunno of any and so far i havent had much luck.

Since the Tremec's replaces the 3550's with the TKO 500, can i even get the parts i need anywhere anymore? If anyone knows of any places or sites please let me know, and i would prob just need the Synco kit right, not the master kit? All my tranny does is grind in 2nd gear and doesnt always like going in, but i dont think it would be the gears. But any and all help is appreciated, so thanks.

Well its not a T-5, but i dont really know how much different a Tremec 3550 is from a T-5 Though, are they almost the same internally? I have heard that these Tremecs have a lot of small parts, but i could be wrong, maybe they are almost the same.
