4.56 gears aren't that bad if he has a high rpm set up. Is this an 1/8th mile or 1/4 mile track. Your gears are going to be a little bit steep for a C4, just letting you know, not trying to start an argument. Stock heads aren't going to get you where you want to be power wise. If money is the problem, get some GT40 heads if nothing else, they can be had at a junk yard for near nothing. Hell, I have a set of Pro Comp heads on my car right now and couldn't be happier, it ran into the 11's twice on engine alone wit hno power adders. I have since added a plate kit but haven't made it to the track for new E.T.'s. And for everyone else asking about .060" over. I had a stock 1983 302 block in an 85 Mustang GT that I beat the crap out of for 2 years and sold it to a guy who beat on it for another 1.5yrs before he broke a set of rings and tore it back down. It can be done with out issues. I built that engine so I know it will work. I had a set of Keith Black .200" domes in it also. It made for a very fun street car. It ran on pump gas. As does the car I run now.

We are getting a older 302 block bored 60 right now, they go 60 without any problem, IF you use the right block.LOL 70's block will not have any problem's. It is going 60 with a 347 stoker kit, so I guess that would make it a 350something cubic inches. We will be spraying about 250 on it.

You are going to split that block wide the hell open with a 250 shot of gas on it...The older Mexican blocks will handle more HP I dont know about the older american blocks but even if it did your either going to crack it or your 347 is one mis matched SOB. My 347 without a power adder is going to put me really close to the limits of the block....what combo are you planning on running with that 347 I guess should have been my first question?

What i have now as of motor is a 302 .060 over with 9.5:1 pistons. I plan on running the factory heads with a high rise single plane intake, both ported to match and 750 carb. If yall have any suggestions on any better heads or anything please let me know. i am trying to run 11.50 and i might run a 150 shot. All i have together now is the bottom end of the motor any advice is great. thanks alot.
11.50s is a walk in the park, especially if the car is gutted. I'm just wondering why you bought gears and a converter before the engine was done???? Ditch the factory heads.

Go with a set of aftermarkets......at least go gt40 if nothing else, I would/did go with trickflows and a custom grind from Jay Allen

I don't see what the big deal is here. If the block has enough meat in the cylinders then why can't it be .060? Not many roller blocks can go that far but some can and nothing says he has a roller block anyway.
