310 build need help looking for 11.50

I am building a 85 mustang fully stripped roll cage ,tubular K member, Qa1 adjustable suspension, ford 9 inch 4.56 gears. I have a nicely built c4 with manual valve body, billet servos, and 4500 stall. Now the question i have for yall is what kind of cam should i run with my motor. What i have now as of motor is a 302 .060 over with 9.5:1 pistons. I plan on running the factory heads with a high rise single plane intake, both ported to match and 750 carb. If yall have any suggestions on any better heads or anything please let me know. i am trying to run 11.50 and i might run a 150 shot. All i have together now is the bottom end of the motor any advice is great. thanks alot.

you could get 11.50 without the NOS. if its light enough and you out a good solid roller, or even a high rev cam from anderson. you might need some compression though, why so low?

I was running low compression cause i wanted to go boosted but then my turbo i was going to buy fell threw so i figured i would get the car going and get the bugs out of it cause i bought it rolling. I am trying to make this a budget buildin a way but i will do what i have to do to go fast. The car is stripped out to the max and i am going to get a fiberglass rear hatch too. it is going to be a track car mostly. i will try to get pics for you

with the stock heads and low compression like that you gonna need some nitrous to get into the 11's.

you are really .60 over? has to be an aftermarket block or you are just plain crazy.... You have all of that money in the rear, and suspension, and trans, and are cutting corners on the heads? Go with a set of aftermarkets......at least go gt40 if nothing else, I would/did go with trickflows and a custom grind from Jay Allen

Yes it really is 60 over and i didnt put the money in the other stuff i bought this car as a rolling chassis.I am kinda new to the ford world i have owned one mustang before this but my family is all chevy but i love these cars and i love change. i just had to get a tranny and motor together. i have a 351 block i am going to build a stroker over time but i wanted to get the car on the track fast and i had this motor out of a 90 gt thought i would just mess around with it and see how fast i could go on a budget and get the other things straight on the car while i build a nice 408. thanks for all the info this forum is great and i am looking at a set of elde. heads 170 cc are they any good and if not what should i look for.

4.56's do seem like a lot of gear for power adders. N/S it's fine but I'd go with something in the high 3's, say a 3.94's(if they make em' for your car) or even 3.73's with a turbo or N2O. As for the N2O if you stick with a 100 shot you'll not have to go to a colder plug or have the timing cut back a couple degrees, if you go 150 then you'll need a colder plug and a couple degrees out of the timing or you'll mess things up.
Try to remove as much weight as you can, you'll get about a 10th/100 lbs which can add up if you've got a lot of extra weight on your car. Good luck and keep us posted.
