Wiring a 5.0 Conversion

I am getting ready to start my 5.0 conversion and am planning the wiring. I have a few different options. I am going to be using a 92 lx hatch 4 cylinder body for the project.

I originally planned to use my 87 LX 5.0 Hatch for the donor car, but I just bought a 91 LX 5.0 vert last night. It came with a 91 4 cyl notch so hopefully that will be my last car purchase of this project.

The 91 vert has a freshly rebuilt engine with ported and polished GT40P heads, ported intake, and Lunati cam. I am going to use that for my engine, then use the T5 out of my 87 or the spare T5 that came with the vert.

My main question is on wiring. How much do I replace? I would like to use the 91 engine harness since it is mass air already. Do I need to replace the dash and body harness as well? Since I have the harnesses available, I would prefer to switch them than to rig up the wiring if necessary. I know there was some changes around those years.

When I was going to use the 87 harness, I was planning on swapping the entire harness, dash, steering column etc. I am hoping that won't be necesarry going from 91-92.

Thanks

You don't really need the body, you will need almost all of the drivetrain components, If your lucky enough you wont have to change the break lines, on the 5.0 they run down the center of the rear-axle, on the 4 cy they are on one side. All chassis are the same they just have the different components. Some things you might have to fab yourself but other than that its pritty easy
