timing is set at +12

$20 bucks says part of your problem is positive comin from solenoid going to starter is heatin up with your exhaust and melting to your header, or grounding out. ive had that problem on 2 different vehicles...just my input

thanks for all the help Yesterday i put another starter in it and changed the neg battery cable and its not slow cranking after being run anymore.

broken starter casings....

I bet you cracked the bell housing. Do you have and AOD? what kind of motor mounts do you have? I'm WAAAY to familiar to this problem... as far as the mini-starter, you can go to the auto parts store and tell them you have a 93 mustang and get a starter for that. make sure you get the correct one if you have a 5-speed or an AOD. THEY ARE DIFFERENT.
