dont know what to do
there is so many different choices and i do not know what to do...at first i kind of wanted to keep my car stock so that it is worth more money later on and just buy another stang to modify and have some fun with....that seemed like a good idea until i thought about how expensive that would be...then i was like, screw it...i just wanna go all out and just have fun with this one and not worry about keeping it original but i dont know how to go about doing that...i want atleast 400 HP....i thought about maybe buying a shortblock and building an engine up from that with all new stuff....seemed too expensive...so then i thought maybe buy a used engine and just take it apart, throw in a stroker kit and build it up from there...or i could take the motor out of my car, have a shop put in a 347 stroker kit in and then put a nice set of heads on it,a nice cam, and a trickflow intake or something...i dont really know where that put put meat power-wise and i dont really know if i need a 347 stroker to get 400 horses...
at one point i though about installing a S/C but i wont be able to put in that much boost without ruining my motor... so that didnt seem like a good idea i need some opinions, advice, etc. i am trying to get to 400 horses without spending a ton of money...but i also know that pretty much everything is expensive on these things...i dont really know what most shops charge for some of the machine work that they do.. |

get a used big block and tranny and swap it out and go carb thats what im doing when i get outta the Marines. Or at the least go with a 347 cuz youll have a hard time getting 400hp without spending some money with a 306 or probably a 331. Im not shure about the 331 though but I have a 88 GT with a 302 bored .30 over, bbk cold air, 70mm mass air 70mm throttle body, GT-40 upper and lower intake, Edlebroc aluminum preformer heads, 24lb fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, b303 cam, aluminum radiator, pro bullit distributor, 6AL ignition, underdrive pully's, hooker headers, bbk off road h-pipe, flowmaster exhaust, smog eliminator. And I am probably right at 400hp or a little less I dont know I am going to the dyno on Friday or Monday to get my diablo chip tuned that I just bought so ill tell ya then.
