I'm selling my '87 convertible - I have no idea: how much is it worth?

I'm starting a business and I'm thinking about selling my white '87 convertible.

Sorry, as of right now I don't have any pictures. I know that's lame, but my car needs to be registered and it needs a new battery and with all of the things I have on my plate right now - things like school and work and this and that - I can't get to those things right now. It's all about priorities.

If you could give me a ballpark idea - a guesstimate - that would be great. If you have any questions about my car, fire away, I'll answer 'em to the best of my ability.

1987 Ford Mustang convertible

The bad:

>needs a paint job

>needs a steering pump

>white convertible top is dirty

>has a dent on the rear quarter panel

>needs a new battery

The good:

>the body is in pretty good condition

>130,000 original miles

>5.0 V8

>runs great

>no rips or tears in the interior

It's stone stock with no modifications.

Yeah that's funny...i just listed the car on craigslist for about that price. Before I listed it I checked ebay's 'completed listing' page to try and get an idea on a price, but they didn't have any cars like mine that were listed. Anyway, I went with my gut, basically guessed, and i listed it for $2200 on cl. Thanks for your post

I'd agree with about $2k. Any spare parts for it lying around?

I dont know here guys. I would think with the paint being bad ( need to know how bad ), the dent in the rear 1/4 ( which is the worst place to have a dent ), and the 130k $2000 seems kind of steep. I wouldnt see myself putting out more than 1200-1500 for it. But its hard to say without having pics of it... Kelley says an 89 ( which is the oldest it will go ) is only worth 2500 in excellent condition. But then agian it also has a GT convertible listed as well ( Which I would think would be worth more as it never existed )...

What do you mean " it never existed"? A GT convertible was available in 87 - 93.

Check out Mistertribal's sig.

I think what he means is that your 89 and my 88 were originally coups and we sent them off and had the tops cut off, the doors cut and a vinal top put on.

I was under the impression taht all fox verts were LXs... ( Putting a GT body kit on a vert would be a little more resaonable than cutting the top off a coupe )

Am I mistaken?
